Spring + Summer in iPhone Photos

It’s officially fall! Thank goodness for the calendar reminder because this whole year has been a blur, with the weeks, months, and seasons melting together in my memory. I typically do seasonal photo diaries but am combining spring and summer together this time since I hardly took any photos from March to June.

In April, bubble baths, books, and wine were my escapes from the craziness of the outside world.

My favorite day this spring was when I visited Naples for the first time and gawked at the waterfront mansions. Of course, the white, colonial-style house with the expansive porches was my favorite. The red tile roof mansion pictured above was so large that I couldn’t fit the whole thing in the camera frame!

Another highlight of the spring was a Country vs. Country Club-themed Zoom call with a few of my friends. I’m not going to lie, I thought my copy of Southern Living was a nice touch.

Separating the work week from the weekend called for Friday night happy hours. My drink of choice: a frozen margarita.

This photo is probably the most accurate depiction of my May and June. A trip to Sam’s Club was a big outing, sporting my mask, grown-out roots, and a spot that I missed with self-tanner. 😂

In June, I headed back to DC from South Carolina. Max and I took advantage of all of the outside time we could get as an escape from our tiny apartments.

There haven’t been many constants this year, but during the summer, three givens were having my way-too-long hair in a high bun, foregoing makeup, and drinking my morning glass of orange juice.

In July, Max had his last day of work before starting law school. I insisted on documenting the occasion with a photo, so he insisted on putting on a tie, getting out his pipe, and doing ridiculous poses. I’m still chuckling at this photo!

I was elated to get a haircut in September after going nine months without one! Unintentionally growing out my brown hair during quarantine made me realize that I prefer being blonde over brunette.

It was a treat to catch up with my hometown friend, Shivani, and reminisce on the hilarious and dumb things we said and did in high school. What a trip down memory lane.
