“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.”— Zora Neale Hurston
This quote resonates deeply. 2023 answered many questions for me. And many prayers.
The year was a testament to two things:
1. Blessings in disguise
Things that caused me heartache in the dumpster fire years of 2020-2022 sowed the seeds for growth that propelled me into more peace and happiness than I would have otherwise known.
2. Agency
I examined areas where I was unsatisfied and grabbed the bull by the horns. The decisions to move to South Carolina, start a new job, buy a house, and prioritize travel — while nerve-wracking at the jump — have paid dividends to my quality of life. It’s a reminder of another quote I love: “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” — Invictus
I hope this year answered the questions in your heart, too. I hope time turned trials into triumphs. If not this year, then next. Wishing you and your family a meaningful holiday season and a happy new year.
