On My Radar

I blinked and March is almost over. To me, this has by far felt like the quickest month since the pandemic began. Maybe it’s the sense of hope that’s come with more people getting vaccinated. Maybe it’s the time change. Whatever the reason, I’ll take it. Of course, the start of a new month means it’s time for the latest On My Radar edition. Today, I’m recapping everything I read, watched, bought, and loved in March.

Read, Watched, Loved

Read: I’m halfway through The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and have caught up on most of my magazines.

Watched: The most notable thing I watched in March was the Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah. It felt like watching history unfold in front of my eyes, and begs the question: Can The Crown come out with a season about the current era, pretty please?

Other than the interview, my TV consumption this month mainly consisted of Schitt’s Creek. Max and I have made it to the final season, which is bittersweet because I don’t want the show to end. We also watched 101 Dalmations (the 1961 animated original) and the movie reminded me how much I enjoy the Disney classics.

Loved: The highlights of my month were the two stunning Miami sunrises I witnessed. Pictured above is one of those sunrises, taken at Matheson Hammock Park.

I also had the opportunity in March to hear Ashley Etienne, Communications Director for Vice President Kamala Harris, speak during a virtual event. Her words inspired me as a woman who also works in the realm of public relations and politics. My favorite piece of advice from Ashley: “Power isn’t given; you have to take it.”

Bought

I found the perfect leather crossbody bag! It’s large enough to hold my DSLR (or a book + all the usual suspects: wallet, keys, etc.) but not bulky. The dark olive leather, suede accent, and two different strap options have me in love! Sidebar: If it’s wrong to love a purse, I don’t want to be right. 😉 Have I mentioned that the bag is nearly 50% off at Nordstrom Rack right now?

I also bought this fun pair of chunky-heeled silver sandals. I can’t wait to wear them with my favorite blush midi-skirt.

This Month’s Gratitudes

As part of the 365 Days of Gratitude Challenge I launched in February, I promised to share some of the items I wrote in my own gratitude journal each month. My hope is that sharing the things I’m thankful for will hold me accountable in maintaining my gratitude practice and will inspire you to keep a gratitude journal of your own.

  • New blackout curtains
  • Catching up with a friend from high school
  • My mom and brother getting COVID vaccines
  • A relaxing day of sleeping in and staying in my pajamas until 3 pm
  • Daylight saving time starting
  • The manatees that surprised us at Deering Estate
