Ah, February. Nestled in between the new year’s resolutions of January and the promises of spring in March, February is a fleeting month that’s largely dedicated to love. And whether you love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is surely on your radar. No matter your relationship status, I’m a believer that a festive outfit makes Valentine’s Day more fun!

With nothing other than class and a FaceTime date (#longdistancelife) on the agenda for Valentine’s Day, I opted for a more casual look. Luckily, I didn’t have to go far to find inspiration. The image of Legally Blonde‘s Elle Woods in her fluffy, pink coat immediately came to mind.

Teddy bear coats are such a big trend right now, but for some reason, that trend just doesn’t feel like me. Instead, I prefer the look of faux fur in a fun color. I instantly fell in love with this coat from ASOS. With just the right amount of weight and fluff, it’s a statement piece that will make you feel like a total girl boss!

Since the coat deserves to be the focal point of the outfit, I paired it with simple black and white pieces. Even though I kept the look relatively sleek, I like that the bow blouse adds a feminine touch and maintains the Elle Woods spirit throughout the ensemble.
